Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center held the event ‘VR for the High-impact Presentation’
Nowadays, technology has significantly advanced and plays an important role in various aspects of the society, whether in terms of quality of life, science and medicine, manufacturing industry, marketing, and especially education, which has integrated the use of technology to promote learning, such as using electronic devices to create a new learning atmosphere and learning via the internet at anywhere, anytime. As a result, learning is no longer limited to the classroom, and many educational institutions undeniably need to adapt to the rapidly changing technology.
Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center, aiming to bring learning resources to develop the wisdom of the land, recognizes the importance of integrating the application of technology with the promotion of education to develop the potential of students, instructors, and staff of Mahidol University. Therefore, Virtual Reality technology has been introduced to the library as one of the services by providing content related to various fields of study, including organizing activities to promote the use of services as another learning approach and to support lifelong learning.
Therefore, Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center organized the event titled ‘VR for the High-impact Presentation’ under the ‘VR for Education MU Library’ project.
On this occasion, Lect. Dr. Eakkachai Warinsiriruk, Deputy Director of Library Service Innovation, and Ms. Ausanee Pengtieng, Deputy Director of Library Resource and Repository delivered the opening speech. Besides, Ms.Sophie Thompson, CEO & Co-Founder, Virtual Speech Ltd. delivered a speech and thanked both the library and participants for having this event, on Wednesday 14th and 21st August, 2024, at Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center, Salaya Campus.
For the special lecture, the library was honored to have Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singhanat Nomnian, the Director of Mahidol University International Demonstration School, taught “Public Presentation Techniques by VirtualSpeech.” Due to the interesting event, there were 60 participants who joined the 2-day special lecture to enhance their skills such as communication skill, English skill, and public presentation skill as being considered a necessity for the future.
